Liverpool vs Bournemouth
Liverpool and Bournemouth kicked off the weekend’s Premier League action at Anfield.
Liverpool headed into the tie with their comfortable 22-point lead atop the Premier League still intact.
The Reds’ form, though, hasn’t been great of late, and they have lost three of their last four ties across all competitions, the latest of which saw them crash out of the FA Cup vs Chelsea.
Bournemouth are also struggling for wins of late, failing to pick up three points in their previous three PL ties.
The Cherries would begin Saturday sat 18th in the English top-flight.
Klopp gives Robertson update
As is the norm, Liverpool released their matchday squad an hour before kick-off on Saturday.
Liverpool’s squad was fairly strong, but there was one big omission, as Andy Robertson was neither starting nor on the bench.

And with their crucial Champions League tie vs Atletico Madrid next week, the Liverpool faithful will no doubt have been hoping that the Scotsman hasn’t picked up a serious injury.
Thankfully, this doesn’t look to be the case, as Jurgen Klopp has provided an explanation for Robertson’s absence vs Bournemouth, stating that whilst the full-back felt something ‘slightly’, he will be fine for Wednesday.
When asked whether Robertson was not involved versus Bournemouth because of rotation or his fitness, Klopp stated:
“Something in between.
“He would have started today but then he felt [something] slightly. But it’s all good, it will be fine for Wednesday. But not for today.
“So we didn’t want to have him on the bench and see Robbo and think, ‘Maybe we can bring you [on].’ It wouldn’t make sense today. That’s the reason and he will be fine.” As quoted by Liverpool’s official website.
