Liverpool’s James Milner gives fitness update before Wolves

Wolves vs Liverpool

Liverpool travel to Wolves on Friday evening as they look to maintain their spot at the top of the Premier League.

After 17 games Liverpool have won 14, drawn three and are the only side left in the Premier League to be undefeated this season.

Liverpool’s last game saw them beat Manchester United 3-1. This would ultimately prove to be the undoing of Jose Mourinho who was sacked on Tuesday morning.

With Manchester City just one point behind Liverpool, a win vs Wolves is vital if Liverpool wish to remain in top spot.

However, they are up against an in-form Wolves side.

Wolves have won their last three league games and now sit in 7th place in the league.

James Milner injury update

Ahead of the game, James Milner has given an update on his own fitness.

Milner suffered a slight knock as Liverpool beat Napoli in the Champions League last week.

This forced Milner to miss out on Sunday’s win over Manchester United.

However, Milner does expect to be back in time to face Wolves on Friday:

“I just had a bit of a sensation in my hamstring at the end of the Napoli game and the manager made the decision [to miss Sunday].

“It was the right thing not to risk me at the weekend. So hopefully I’ll be fine for the next game.”
