The weekend’s Premier League action kicked off a short time ago.

The first tie of the weekend sees Leicester City play host to Liverpool, in a highly anticipated affair.

The Foxes headed into the game in slightly patchy form, having managed two wins, two draws and a defeat from their last five Premier League outings.

However, Liverpool have been in even worse form of late. Jurgen Klopp’s side kicked off at the King Power down in 4th place in the English top-flight, a whopping 10 points off table-topping Manchester City, who also have a game in hand on the Reds.

After losing three of their last five, Jurgen Klopp’s men are in fact in serious danger of dropping out of the top-four altogether, making a win over Leicester close to essential.

As things stand at the King Power, the scoreline remains 0-0, though Liverpool have dominated the majority of the tie, and had slightly better chances.

There was also a claim that Mohamed Salah should have been awarded a penalty, but nothing was given after a VAR check:

With less than half an hour played, though, Liverpool have also been dealt yet another injury blow.

Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip, Fabinho and Ben Davies are of course already out of action due to respective fitness problems.

And now, Jurgen Klopp and co. have seen yet another senior star pick up a knock.
