Alexander-Arnold’s time at Liverpool
Trent Alexander-Arnold is a product of Liverpool’s youth system.
Despite just turning 21 on October 7th, TAA is already making a name for himself as one of the best full-backs in the English top-flight and perhaps even in Europe.
The 2018/19 campaign saw Alexander-Arnold provide a staggering 12 assists in just 29 Premier League outings.
Those 12 assists were the most that a defender has ever recorded in a single PL season, showcasing just what a bright young talent TAA is.
His good form has carried over into the 2019/20 campaign, as well. The right-back has already scored one and assisted two in eight PL appearances.
TAA on Klopp
It would be Liverpool’s current boss, Jurgen Klopp, who gave Alexander-Arnold his Liverpool debut back in October of 2016, when he was just 18 years of age.
Since then, Klopp has shown the utmost faith in the young full-back, who has gone on to make 97 appearances for Liverpool’s senior side.
Now, in a recent interview, TAA has been praising Klopp. Alexander-Arnold stated that the German gave him more opportunities than he could ask for:
“He’s the one that’s given me the most opportunities – more opportunities than I could even ask for.
“He’s put a lot of trust and faith in me personally and I’ve tried to repay him every time he’s done that.
“Within his first few weeks he was down at the academy watching the young lads, and that almost gave us a bit more faith and gave a statement to the club that he is going to use young players and give us those chances.” As quoted by Sky Sports News.
