Liverpool & Wolfsburg’s Divock Origi
It’s unclear whether Divock Origi will ever play for Liverpool again.
Origi is out of contract at Liverpool at the end of the season, and there’s little reason to believe the Belgian is due for a new deal.
Origi joined Liverpool from Lille in 2014, however he’s struggled to make a name for himself at Anfield.
Indeed, he’s currently on a season-loan loan in Germany with Wolfsburg.
The 22-year-old has scored five Bundesliga goals in 22 matches this season.
He’s also served up one of the misses of season in the Bundesliga this year.
Divock Origi: ‘I have a dolphin named after me’
This week Origi has spoken to German outlet DW, and he’s told a brilliant story about what happened after he scored Belgium’s winner against Russia at the 2014 World Cup:
It was a crazy, crazy time. It was our first World Cup in so long, and after my goal and the game, everyone was celebrating.
We met the King, I took a selfie with him… and then I heard that there had been a dolphin named after me!
I was in my hotel room, seeing all of this happen. It was amazing!
Origi also dropped some hints about leaving Liverpool in the near future:
In three to five years, I see myself at the top level. That is something I dream of, as well as winning trophies.
I don’t know where that is going to be, but if I work hard, that is definitely something I can reach.
