Liverpool vs Tottenham betting tips: Premier League match preview & predictions

Liverpool vs Tottenham 101 Great Goals’ prediction: Liverpool 2-2 Tottenham

Liverpool’s perfect start to the season was halted last week by Manchester United with a 1-1 draw.

The Reds remain six points clear of Manchester City (as of Friday), but will be desperate to return to winning ways.

Tottenham Hotspur, meanwhile, have had a very mixed week having drawn with Watford last weekend.

But after making a number of changes in midweek, Mauricio Pochettino’s side produced an impressive 5-0 win over Crvena Zvezda.

Premier League preview: Liverpool vs Tottenham

For both teams, Sunday’s clash already feels like a big moment in the season.

For the first time this term, Liverpool dropped points at the hands of Manchester United.

A point at Old Trafford remains a positive result for Jurgen Klopp’s men.

But with such a ferocious force like Manchester City in pursuit, dropping points cannot become a common theme.

The Reds did resume normal service in the Champions League by defeating Genk 4-1 with Mane, Salah and Firmino looking unstoppable.

Have Tottenham turned a corner?

The last few weeks for Pochettino have been by far the worst of his five years at the club.

Eliminated from the League Cup by Colchester, thrashed by Bayern Munich and embarrassed by Brighton, the Argentine’s future has come under question.

But on Tuesday, a heavily changed Spurs side put five goals past Red Star.

Tottenham played with all the traits associated with Pochettino’s best sides.

This season has been a real struggle for Tottenham, but Tuesday may have been a turning point and Sunday could be another building block in their recovery.
