Saul wages put off Reds
Despite Liverpool’s need for a central midfielder and Saul Niguez’s want to depart Atletico Madrid, a deal between the two clubs is still unlikely.
According to the Athletic’s Reds correspondent James Pearce, it is the wage demands which are the biggest sticking point for
‘Unless there’s a change of heart from Liverpool, I can’t see it. He’s been offered around to a host of clubs but his wage demands are massive,’ wrote Pearce in a reply on a Q&A for Liverpool’s transfers.
Liverpool lost Gini Wijnaldum to PSG this summer and will need to replace him or risk leaving themselves reliant on some questionable options at the club.
Liverpool weren’t ‘decisive’ in Kaio Jorge chase
Juventus confirmed the signing of exciting Brazilian talent Kaio Jorge and his agent Andrea Bagnoli has said that Liverpool, along with a number of other clubs were interested but didn’t show the same decisiveness.
“I know that he was followed with interest by Atletico Madrid, Liverpool and Tottenham, but all the top clubs were informed,” Bagnoli said to CalcioMercato.
“He was followed by several European clubs, but in the end the most decisive club always wins.
“A little Lautaro, a little Firmino. He is a player with their characteristics, but by finding him the right position and giving him experience he can also turn into a Neymar.”
High praise, but Reds fans will be concerned that Liverpool weren’t ‘decisive’ enough when it came to securing such a highly rated talent.

Karius at risk of exile
The forgotten man Loris Karius could be set for exile from Liverpool with no interest from clubs in the German goalkeeper.
The Liverpool Echo have said that with their non-homegrown quota already full, Karius will be left out.
Klopp’s squad already boasts one more than the full quota of 17 overseas players, with Loris Karius likely to be their left out 18th man if he fails to move on.
He could yet move on from the club but little interest has surfaced.
