Liverpool stars impress for Brazil while Naby Keita returns from injury

Brazil 5 – Peru 0

Brazil coasted to their second win at the 2019 Copa America on Saturday night against Peru.

The home nation opened their campaign with a 3-0 win against Bolivia.

However, Brazil were poor in a 0-0 draw against Venezuela on matchday two.

Unfortunately for Peru, they were steamrollered this weekend, as Brazil rediscovered their scoring touch.

Goals from Casemiro, Roberto Firmino and Everton put Brazil 3-up at the break.

Dani Alves and Willian scored in the second-half, while Gabriel Jesus missed a late penalty.

Liverpool’s Alisson & Roberto Firmino

Liverpool goalie Alisson is yet to concede a goal at the Copa America.

Indeed, Alisson has now kept clean sheets in his last seven matches in a row.

The Reds shot-stopper won the 2018-19 Premier League Golden Glove award.

Roberto Firmino was back on the scoresheet against Peru.

After a terrible mistake by the Peruvian keeper in the 19th minute, Firmino capitalised to score.

As is his trademark, Firmino put the ball in the net with another no-look finish.

Naby Keita returns from injury for Guinea

Over in Egypt on Saturday night, Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita made his long-awaited return from injury for Guinea.

Keita missed the back-end of Liverpool’s season, including the Champions League final win over Tottenham, with an adductor injury.

Against Madagascar at the African Cup of Nations on Saturday, Keita came off the bench in the second-half.

The Liverpool midfielder had a 30-minute cameo in his first game back.

Madagascar held Guinea to a 2-2 draw in the match.
