Liverpool are understood to have had scouts watch Bayer Leverkusen 18-year-old Kai Havertz.
Havertz captained Germany Under 19’s to a 5-1 win over Belarus on Wednesday.
The midfielder scored four goals and assisted the other.
Who is Kai Havertz?
Havertz was born in 1999 and is an attacking midfielder.
He can also play as a right-sided midfielder or just as a central midfielder.
The 18-year-old has already made 33 appearances for Leverkusen’s first-team, including; 28 Bundesliga appearances and three Champions League appearances.
Last Friday, he appeared as a substitute in a 1-1 draw with Schalke, making his fourth Bundesliga appearance of the season.
Havertz has drawn comparisons to both Michael Ballack and Mesut Ozil.
Premier League interest
The Meyerside club are not the only Premier League club said to be interested in signing the Leverkusen teenager.
Manchester United and Arsenal were also believed to have scouts in attendance at the game.
