Liverpool reportedly favour a move for Timo Werner over Jadon Sancho

Werner & Sancho tearing up Bundesliga

RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner and Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho are two of the hottest commodities in the Bundesliga right now.

In 25 league outings this term, Werner has scored a very impressive 21 goals, whilst also providing seven assists.

The German international has also shone in the Champions League, netting four and assisting two in eight appearances, including a crucial goal vs Tottenham.

As for Sancho, the former Manchester City man is having yet another scintillating campaign in the German top-flight, which has seen him find the back of the net 14 times and provide a staggering 16 assists in 23 outings.

Sancho’s exploits would also see him become the youngest player in the history of the Bundesliga to score 22 goals, breaking a record which had previously stood since 1968.

Liverpool prefer Werner over Sancho

Unsurprisingly, given what sensational campaigns the duo were having before the Bundesliga was brought to a halt, both Sancho and Werner have been linked with moves to high-flying Liverpool.

And whilst the Liverpool faithful would no doubt love both of these players at Anfield, it appears the Reds favour a move for the Leipzig hitman.

As per the Mirror, citing The Athletic, Liverpool favour a move for Werner, as the Dortmund winger would be too expensive.

The fee Liverpool would have to pay for Sancho, according to the report from the Mirror, would be around £120m.

However, Werner’s price-tag is believed to be a lot lower, at just £52m, due to his release clause.

That alleged release clause reportedly has to be activated by the end of April, though.
