Liverpool receive Naby Keita injury boost ahead of pre-season tour – Guardian

Good news for Liverpool and Keita

Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita is expected to be available for the Reds’ tour of the United States later this month, despite a recent injury.

The Guinea star has been at the Africa Cup of Nations in recent weeks.

However, Keita was forced to depart the squad after picking up an injury against Nigeria last week.

With Liverpool’s pre-season tour of the United States approaching, that’s not ideal.

The Mirror even reported this week that initial assessments of Keita’s injury looked ‘grim’.

However, that could be wide of the mark, with the Guardian now claiming that Liverpool expect Keita to be fit for their stateside tour later this month.

Keita set to be ready for Stateside tour

According to their report, ‘Liverpool expect Naby Keïta to take part in their pre-season tour of the United States later this month despite aggravating the injury that curtailed his debut campaign at Anfield.’

Following a full assessment from Liverpool this week, the Reds do not expect Keita to be sidelined for very long.

Liverpool have even told the midfielder to take a holiday before their tour later this month.

The Guardian claim that ‘Keïta has been told to take a holiday before reporting as planned for the US tour that involves matches against Borussia Dortmund in Indiana, Sevilla in Boston and Sporting in New York.’

Thankfully for Liverpool fans, Keita should be fit for the start of next season.
