Liverpool are planning to ‘swoop’ for Spartak Moscow star Quincy Promes in January, Transfermarketweb report.
The Dutch star is a regular Holland international (not the greatest claim at the minute considering the state of that side in recent yars) and has been delivering the goods for Spartak Moscow for several seasons now.
The goods have come in the form of goals and assists. An attacker who plays behind the main striker, Promes has scored nine goals in 14 games this season. He’s reached double figures for goals for five consecutive seasons.
Going into the campaign, Liverpool looked red hot up front and pure slush at the back. That’s still half true – and that’s a depressing state of affairs for the Reds. They’re creating chances but struggling to score goals.
Promes impressed Jurgen Klopp in Spartak’s recent 1-1 draw with Liverpool in the Champions League.
Will this Spartak star give them the breakthrough they need? Will he take them to the Promes land?
Oh lord, we’re gonna get complaints about that joke. Nobody needs to hear something that lame so early on a Saturday. I hope we didn’t ruin your weekend. Spare a thought for poor Klopp, feeling the pressure at Liverpool.
Mind you, he’s not poor at all and, ironically enough, being sacked by Liverpool would only make him richer.
Other Liverpool business
Other Liverpool targets include PSG star Adrien Rabiot. Fans have gotten all excited about a potential move after the French midfielder admitted supporting the club as a child. But, having no reason to leave PSG, a move is unlikely.
The Reds will honour one of their greatest ever players ahead of the upcoming clash with Manchester United. The Kenny Dalgish stand will be unveiled at Anfield in tribute to a player who scored 169 goals over 502 games.
Dalglish also achieved success with Liverpool as a manager, winning three league titles.
