Liverpool stars Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jordan Henderson have today been rewarded for their stellar respective 2019/20 seasons.

The English top-flight campaign of course came to a close three weeks ago.

A historic season, delayed for a 3 full months following the Covid-19 outbreak, eventually saw Liverpool emerge as worthy champions, to secure the Reds’ first league title in 30 years:

Elsewhere, a tense battle for Champions League football saw the rejuvenated Manchester United and Frank Lampard’s Chelsea join Man City in the top-4.

Leicester City’s stunning late season collapse, though, means that the Foxes face a season in the Europa League, with Brendan Rodgers’ outfit set to be joined by Tottenham and FA Cup winners Arsenal.

It was a mixed bag for the newly-promoted sides, as Sheffield United surprised the masses en route to a 9th-placed finish, Aston Villa survived the drop by the skin of their teeth, but Norwich were doomed to a swift return to the Championship.

Joining the Canaries in England’s 2nd-tier for the 2020/21 campaign, meanwhile, are Watford and Bournemouth.

As such, with the dust having now settled on another action-packed year of Premier League football, the nominees for the season’s finest performers were subsequently revealed last week.

Liverpool were unsurprisingly the side most represented, with all of Sadio Mane, Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold up for the Player of the Year prize.

The latter of this trio, meanwhile, was the only individual to have taken his place on the shortlist for both the best performer and young player of the season.

And, as outlined above, English stopper Alexander-Arnold’s superb campaign has today seen him officially claim the award for the English top-flight’s finest youngster in 2019/20:

Elsewhere, while the Player of the Year award for the Premier League is yet to be confirmed, the division’s champions have unveiled their best – in the form of captain and leader Jordan Henderson.

The midfield all-rounder beat out strong competition from Sadio Mane to clinch the accolade, voted for by a combination of supporters and the club’s official former players association, Forever Reds:
