Philippe Coutinho & Barcelona

Looking back on the deal with the help of hindsight, it’s clear that Liverpool got the better of Barcelona regarding Philippe Coutinho.

Coutinho left Anfield for Camp Nou back in January 2018.

Barcelona paid Liverpool over 140 million pounds for their Brazilian playmaker.

However, Coutinho has failed to live up to his price-tag in Spain.

Barca fans turn on Liverpool old-boy

On Saturday night, Barcelona beat Rayo Vallecano 3-1 in La Liga.

Coutinho started the match in attack, while he was subbed out the game in the 80th minute for Ivan Rakitic.

When Coutinho exited the pitch, Barca fans booed the former Liverpool star.

Could Coutinho move to Manchester United?

The Mail on Sunday suggest that Man United could sign Coutinho.

Would the South American really move to Old Trafford having played for Liverpool previously?

The Mail tell their readers the following:

Philippe Coutinho is eyeing up a return to the Premier League with Liverpool’s bitter rivals Manchester United.

Now the Brazil international has appeared to have had enough, as he has told friends he wants to leave and has spoken to Manchester United players about a switch to Old Trafford.

Would Coutinho get into Man United’s team?

Leaving aside the issue of whether Man United fans would want Coutinho at their club, a separate issue is whether the Brazilian would get into the team.

Man United have quite a few attacking options in wide areas. Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard and Alexis Sanchez are just three options for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
