Felix responds to transfer rumours
Over the last couple of months, Benfica wonderkid Joao Felix has been linked with a number of clubs.
Liverpool are said to have had a £61m bid for Felix rejected earlier this season.
Manchester United were then linked with a £100m swoop for Felix in February.
Somewhat surprisingly, newly-promoted Premier League outfit Wolves have also been linked with a move for the 19-year-old.
Now, speaking to Spanish outlet Marca, Felix has opened up on his future:
“My dream has always been to play for the big teams and in the big competitions.
“But I’m here and I’m very happy with Benfica, which, like those teams, is also a big one in Europe.”As quoted by the Metro.
Felix has a release clause of €120m. When asked if he thought that figure was too high, he responded:
“Maybe, yes. ‘But I do not understand the market or values, these are issues of representatives and presidents. I just play.” As quoted by the Metro.
Joao Felix shines at Benfica
While €120m may be a bit much for such a young player, Felix certainly looks to have a bright future ahead of him.
The young forward played 29 games for Benfica’s B team, in which he scored seven and assisted five.
Felix would then be called up to Benfica’s senior squad at the beginning of the 2018/19 campaign.
He has gone on to make 31 appearances across all competitions, scoring 11 and assisting six for the Portuguese outfit.
