Liverpool and Man United waiting in the wings
Liverpool and Manchester United are reportedly monitoring Bukayo Saka’s situation at Arsenal, with contract talks underway.
Saka has only recently burst onto the scene, but has shown some pretty promising potential.
Saka made a couple of appearances last season, but has featured 23 times for Arsenal’s first team in this campaign.
For an 18-year-old, that’s not bad going.
However, Saka only has 18 months remaining on his current deal.
With Saka becoming such an integral part of the Arsenal squad, the Gunners will no doubt want to tie him down to a new long-term deal.
However, despite reports claiming that Arsenal have opened talks, they also claim that Manchester United and Liverpool are circling.
Several clubs ‘monitoring’ the situation
According to the Mail, both Liverpool and Man United are monitoring Saka’s situation.
They claim: ‘Academy product Saka has entered the final 18 months of his current deal, worth around £3,000-per-week, and negotiations have begun over a new deal which Arsenal hope will end in Saka committing his long-term future to the club.’
However, the Mail explain that Saka’s situation has ‘alerted Premier League rivals Liverpool and Manchester United.’
Bayern Munich are also keeping a watchful eye on contract talks, as Saka slowly approaches the end of his current deal.
Safe to say, Arsenal will not want to lose one of their most talented youngsters, and presumably will push to wrap up a new deal as soon as possible.
Only time will tell if they are able to convince Saka to extend his stay at the Emirates.
