Werner linked with Liverpool
Timo Werner has been heavily linked with European champions Liverpool recently.
It was reported earlier this month by SPORTBILD journalist Christian Falk that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is interested in bringing Werner to Anfield.
That same report from Falk claimed that, due to a clause in his contract, Werner could leave Leipzig for around €60m in the summer. Falk then provided another update concerning Werner and Liverpool, stating that the German’s clause allowing him to leave for around €60m must be activated by the end of April.
The centre-forward, who has netted 21 and assisted seven in 23 league outings this term, addressed his links to Liverpool after Leipzig’s recent triumph over Tottenham in the Champions League, stating that they made him proud.

Werner praises Klopp
In a more recent interview, Werner now appears to be launching a charm offensive towards the Reds.
Leipzig picked up a comprehensive 5-0 victory over Schalke on Saturday, in which Werner scored one and provided one assist.
After that tie, the 23-year-old was once again talking about Liverpool.
Werner stated that Jurgen Klopp is the best coach in the world. The Leipzig standout also claimed that there are many things that would suggest his style of play could be a good fit for Liverpool:
“Last year, until I extended my contract, it was always Bayern Munich [that I was linked with]. Now Liverpool has come up through the media and through our game in England.
“You have there the best coach in the world with Jurgen Klopp.
“There are many things that would suggest that my style of play might be a good fit, but I’m not worried about it because we have so much to do with Leipzig.
“You can see we won against Tottenham, but we also have a second leg. It’s hard to think about where to play next year if you want to step on the gas here and now.” As quoted by Sky Sports News.
