Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has revealed how Mohamed Salah could go down as a better player than Luis Suarez or Fernando Torres at Anfield.
The Egyptian star is becoming one of the best players in the clubs recent history having already surpassed the 30 goal mark this season.
While he didn’t add one against Porto on Tuesday night, he was still being talked about after the game.
That is because Steven Gerrard has explained what Salah needs to do to be considered a better Liverpool player than Suarez or Torres.
Both forwards went on to have incredible goal records and are no doubt two of the best forwards that the club will ever have.
Though, should Salah continue this rate of scoring over a prolonged period of time and add some silverware in, Gerrard thinks he has the edge.
“Fernando had a great phase at Liverpool, but Suarez did it for longer,” answered Gerrard on BT Sport after the clash with Porto.
“And I believe if he was at Liverpool now he would still be hitting a 30 goal return.
“He also did an awful lot more away from the goals as well, assisting goals and the work rate he used to put in for the team. So for me, I’ll be biased towards Suarez.
“But, if Salah goes on to continue to be consistent over a number go years and add silverware, that would give him an advantage over Torres and Suarez because they never won much.”
Steven actually said Salah is the greatest African to ever play in the Premier League?
What a disrespect to legends like Drogba, Yaya and even Kolo who had great seasons and won several trophies in the Premier League
