Liverpool legend claims Salah is on Messi and Ronaldo’s level

Comparable to Messi and Ronaldo

Mohamed Salah has had a great season at Liverpool but one Anfield legend has suggested he’s now reached the levels of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Egyptian star has taken the Premier League by storm having signed from Roma last summer.

The player looks likely to finish top goalscorer in the league having already bagged 28 goals in the English competition alone.

In fact, he only needs another 4 goals in his next 7 games to beat the most goals ever scored in one Premier League season.

That record is held jointly by Alan Shearer, Luis Suarez and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Now, Liverpool legend Ian Rush has claimed that Mohamed Salah is now playing at the level that the latter and rival Lionel Messi have produced over the past decade.

‘You can look at Fernando Torres and Luis Suarez and he is up there with any Liverpool forward to have come in,’ he told Sky Sports.

‘He’s been absolutely amazing but the thing with Salah is that he is so down-to-earth as well.

‘The game against Watford was the best I have ever seen him play, he was untouchable — not just because of his four goals but also because he wasn’t selfish and was trying to make goals for his team-mates.

‘There are only two players I have seen that can play at that level, and that’s Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.’

While it’s far too early to suggest he is as good as that pair, should he keep scoring at the rate he is now, they may be no doubt in a couple of years.
