Liverpool win at Tottenham
It was another superb weekend for Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp’s men kept up their winning run with a fifth straight victory.
Goals from Gini Wijnaldum and Roberto Firmino put the Reds 2-up at Wembley Stadium.
Erik Lamela scored a late consolation for Spurs.
Jan Vertonghen vs Roberto Firmino
Roberto Firmino was forced out of the game in the second half following a collision with Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen.
Firmino couldn’t continue after he took a hit in the face.
Vertonghen’s hand left the Brazilian with a bloody face just under his eye. While Firmino indicated he couldn’t continue due to his eye issue.
Liverpool fans want Vertonghen to be banned
Vertonghen wasn’t booked for his coming together with Firmino.
However, according to Liverpool fans on social media, the Spurs defender should be banned.
Still photos from the incident have been used to show how Vertonghen landed an ‘eye-gauge’ on Firmino.
Was it intentional? Did the Belgian really means to stick his finger in the Brazilian’s pupil?
Firmino went to hospital after the incident versus Spurs.
Happily the Liverpool striker was discharged after a short while without any problem.

Eye gouging @FA
Ban him. Vile, cheats. pic.twitter.com/oEHexk6rVg

So @FA if the referee didn't see the poke in the eye (which he clearly didn't giving the free kick AGAINST Firmino) then surely that should be retrospectively looked at. Should I hold my breathe?

So will Jan Vertoghen get done by the @FA for eye gouging Firmino. Depends wether @SpursOfficial are playing Man U in guess as will want him missing games, oh sorry they won't as Spuds already beat Man U 3-0 few weeks ago so no ban. pic.twitter.com/TmMfUWwsCR
