Liverpool have been afforded a timely boost on the personnel front ahead of the weekend's upcoming slate of Premier League fixtures, it has been confirmed.

Jurgen Klopp's troops will of course be back in action on Saturday evening.

Amid their ongoing pursuit of Manchester City atop the English top-flight, the Reds are set to welcome Antonio Conte's Tottenham Hotspur to Anfield, for a clash which could have major ramifications on not only the title race, but the battle for Champions League football, too.

In turn, news of the return to fitness of a key member of the club's ranks will no doubt be met with delight on the part of all associated with Liverpool.

Handing Jurgen Klopp another rotation option in the Liverpool frontline over the coming weeks looks set to be Roberto Firmino. Brazilian international Firmino has not featured competitively since mid-April, owing to a niggling foot problem.

Quadruple hopes alive

Word of Firmino's return of course caps what has proven another stellar week for Liverpool to date.

This comes with the Merseyside heavyweights fresh off the back of booking their spot in another Champions League final, at the expense of Unai Emery's giant-killing Villarreal.

After first-half goals on the part of Boulaye Dia and Francis Coquelin guided the hosts into a shock 2-0 lead at El Madrigal on Tuesday, Liverpool exploded into life after the interval, turning the clash on its head courtesy of goals on the part of all of Fabinho, Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane, to waltz into the competition's showpiece later this month courtesy of a 5-2 aggregate triumph.
