Liverpool fans react to Mohamed Salah’s PFA Player of the Year snub

Liverpool’s supporters have flooded to social media this afternoon to react to Mohamed Salah being left off of the PFA Player of the Year shortlist.

Van Dijk & Sterling lead candidates

The nominees to take home the award for the finest player in the Premier League this season were announced earlier this afternoon.

Manchester City and Liverpool, amid their historic fight for the English top-flight title, unsurprisingly dominate the shortlist, with 3 and 2 nominees respectively.

Sergio Aguero, Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling lead the way for the Citizens, with Virgil Van Dijk and Sadio Mane representing Liverpool.

Chelsea’s Eden Hazard rounds out the candidates to take home the award:

As such, the one glaring omission from the Player of the Year shortlist is current holder Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian’s 19 goals and 7 assists have not been enough to see him earn the opportunity to retain his crown as the Premier League’s finest player.

And it is safe to say that Liverpool’s fans have not taken too well to the news of their star attacker being left off of the shortlist, with some of the best social media reaction showcased below:
