Salah and Firmino
Liverpool stars Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino are the talk of the club this season, and while no one can quite believe just how good Salah has been since joining the club, it seems that one of the most underrated forwards in the Premier League is Roberto Firmino.
Most people talked about Alvaro Morata and Romelu Lukaku in the summer – not to mention the old favourites of Sergio Aguero and Harry Kane, but the Liverpool man has been as impressive – if not quite a bit more impressive than most of them.
He’s been key to their performance and their goals, and has managed to show just why Jurgen Klopp rates him so highly, and why the rest of fans outside of Liverpool have him in their fantasy team and begrudgingly praise him each week.
There’s no doubt the Liverpool attack is one of the best in football, and it’s the defence that has been getting the majority of criticism, but Lloris Karius was impressive in the first half against the Saints, and many people noted just that, with the stopper actually getting a bit of praise for once, instead of being criticised.

Unbelievable intelligence by Roberto Firmino, unbelievable technical quality that matches such high football IQ.
Firmino and Salah combining to carry Liverpool away to Southampton. #EPL

A sensational one-two between Firmino and Salah – the Brazilian finding the Egyptian with a supreme backheel – has the latter making it 2-0 to #LFC

Firmino and Salah with an absolutely exquisite piece of linkup play for our second goal. Cheeky assist by Firmino, and Salah slots the ball in the net. We’re looking comfortable.

What a half that was and what a duo Firmino and Salah are. Tbh, Loris Karius kept us in the game.

Not vintage Liverpool in that first half, but Karius did well with the ‘too many’ chances we gave Southampton and there’s not much to add about Firmino and Salah.
They are undoubtedly wonderful technicians.

Firmino and Salah make football look like the easiest thing in the world. Southampton being so shit helps too.

Firmino and Salah have some telepathic shit going on. Phenomenal link-up

Liverpool observations from first half:
Karius looking fairly good, saving us at times.
Matip looking shaky.
Mané playing poor. Hesitating a lot, slowing down play.
Firmino and Salah playing well.
Between the two goals we’ve played poor but luckily 2-0, need to grab a third

Firmino and Salah have a telepathic connection today – just need Mane to get on the same wavelength #LFC
