Liverpool fans are loving this Everton stat

Liverpool vs Everton

It’s been a mixed bag of results when Liverpool have met Everton so far this season.

The Merseyside rivals met in the Premier League back in December. Mohamed Salah fired Liverpool into the lead, but Everton grabbed a second half equaliser via a Wayne Rooney penalty.

Liverpool got a small bit of revenge in January in the FA Cup third round. Virgil Van Dijk marked his debut for Liverpool with the winner against Everton in front of the Kop.

Incredible Liverpool vs Everton stat

Last week Liverpool were back Champions League.

Facing one of the most esteemed clubs in the UCL annals, Liverpool hammered FC Porto 5-0 away from home.

Once agains Liverpool’s front three did all the damage. Salah and Roberto Firmino scored a goal apiece, while Sadio Mane grabbed the headlines with a hat-trick.

With their Champions League quarterfinal place now virtually assured, Liverpool fans are loving one stat at the start of the week.

Almost unbelievably, Liverpool have scored more goals in 9 Champions League games this season than Everton have in 27 Premier League games.

Everton have only scored 32 league goals, while Liverpool are up to 34 goals in the Champions League.

When it comes to the individual goal scoring charts in the Champions League, Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo is top with 11 goals.

Roberto Firmino is second with 7 goals, which is the same as Tottenham’s Harry Kane. Neymar, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah all have six goals in the UCL.
