Liverpool fans can’t get enough of one player vs Tottenham

Supporters of Liverpool have this evening taken to social media in their droves to sing the praises of defender Trent Alexander-Arnold, following the youngster’s showing during the first-half of their clash with Tottenham.

The two sides are currently locked in action at Anfield, with hosts Liverpool having put shock defeats at the hands of Swansea and West Brom over recent weeks firmly behind them with a comfortable 3-0 win over Huddersfield on Tuesday night.

Spurs, meanwhile, put Manchester United to the sword in impressive fashion during the week, on the back of a pair of disappointing stalemates versus Southampton and Newport County respectively.

An open affair was expected to be played out between the two sides on Merseyside this afternoon, though it nevertheless came as a surprise when Liverpool took the lead with just 2 minutes on the clock.

It was man of the moment Mohamed Salah who did the damage once again, as the Egyptian latched onto Eric Dier’s heavy touch to slot past Hugo Lloris in typically-cool fashion.

Impressive

However, while it was star man Salah who took the plaudits early on, it was one the Reds’ more unheralded players who received hefty praise from the club’s fans over the course of the opening 45 minutes, in the form of full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The English youth international looked solid in his defending and characteristically excellent in possession, with one particular delivery from the 19-year-old having had viewers purring.
