Liverpool fans take aim at Jurgen Klopp for selection of one player vs Spartak Moscow

Supporters of Liverpool have this evening reacted angrily to seeing Alberto Moreno start ahead of Andy Robertson at left-back.

CL clash

The Reds travelled to Russia to take on Spartak Moscow in their second Champions League fixture of the campaign, having drawn 2-2 at home to Sevilla in their Group E opener.

Manager Jurgen Klopp opted to start with his tried and trusted front trio of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, with Philippe Coutinho also included in the starting XI.

Twitter reaction

Most fans of the Merseyside giants had few complaints regarding Klopp’s starting XI, aside from one decision.

The German tactician opted to place faith in Alberto Moreno at left-back once again, despite the Spanish stopper’s widely-documented defensive struggles both this season and last.

This meant that promising Scottish talent Andy Robertson, who has impressed during limited time on the pitch this season, was once again left out, with Reds fans quick to make their disapproval regarding the decision known on social media:
