Wolves vs Liverpool
Thursday’s only Premier League clash saw Wolves play host to league-leaders Liverpool.
The Reds began the day with a commanding 13-point lead atop the English top-flight.
Jurgen Klopp’s side would also have two games in hand on 2nd placed Manchester City, one of which was Thursday’s fixture.
The Merseyside powerhouse were undefeated in the PL this term before kicking off at Molineux, winning 21 of their previous 22 PL outings.
As for Wolves, they began the tie 7th in the Premier League, but the hosts knew that anything but a defeat would have seen them move up to 5th in the table.
However, things didn’t get off to a great start for Nuno Santo’s men.
The opening exchanges saw both teams carve out decent chances, but it would be the European champions who broke the deadlock.
Jordan Henderson connected with a Trent Alexander-Arnold corner to give Liverpool the lead with eight minutes on the clock.
