Liverpool have contacted German winger Julian Draxler over a loan move in January.
The Paris Saint-Germain player has struggled for game time and could be prised away from the French league leaders.
Jurgen Klopp has been a long-term admirer of the former Wolfsburg player and will make his move in the upcoming winter window.
Julian Draxler remains keen on staying in Paris and becoming a success in the French capital.
It is understood that the player would, however, be interested in leaving should a loan deal come about.
Limited game time
Over the summer, PSG brought in Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, both of whom play either side of central-striker Edinson Cavani.
This has meant that Draxler has played fewer minutes in his favoured attacking role, instead, playing in a deeper central-midfield position.
The German has also started fewer games, making just seven starts in 11 appearances.
With the World Cup on the horizon, at the end of the season, Draxler may seek pastures new in search of more first-team minutes.
The Reds have been keen on the player for some time now, attempting to sign him before he joined PSG at the start of the year.
The Merseyside club have made contact with the player over a potential move in January.
The winger has impressed at both Schalke and Wolfsburg causing his stock to rise around Europe.
At the age of 24, the winger remains a hot commodity despite now being on the books of one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Jurgen Klopp is also a big fan of his fellow countryman and is hopeful of finally bringing him to the Premier League.
Arsenal have been also strongly linked with the player and should it become known that he is available, the Gunners are likely to reignite their interest.
