Liverpool bid for Paris FC striker Silas Wamangituka
As confirmed in the Independent on Sunday, Liverpool have lodged an official bid to sign Paris FC striker Silas Wamangituka.
Silas Wamangituka is a 19-year-old Congolese striker.
Last season, he scored 11 goals in 33 matches for Paris FC in Ligue 2.
While the Independent rely on Le Parisien as their source for the ‘Liverpool bid for Wamangituka’ story, a separate report in Foot Marseille has claimed that both Liverpool and Benfica have made bids for the teenager.

So how likely is it that Wamangituka joins Liverpool?
The Independent are unsure, reporting that “any move is unlikely to be a swift one, with Wamangituka also attracting attention from clubs such as Toulouse, Galatasaray, Club Brugge and Marseille.”
Wamangituka is under contract at Paris FC until 2021.
To be clear, the Independent say that Liverpool and Paris FC are “negotiating a fee”.
The Scottish Sun, previously linking Wamangituka with Celtic, claimed that the striker could cost 4.5 million pounds.
Sheffield United defender Jack O’Connell
Another player linked with a possible move to Anfield this summer is Sheffield United defender Jack O’Connell.
O’Connell is a 25-year-old English centre-half.
He’s currently under contract with the Blades until 2023, having made 42 appearances in all competitions in their promotion-winning season.
The Independent have published the following quotes from O’Connell on being a Liverpool fan, and how he’d react if the Reds came calling;
I’m a massive Liverpool fan and went to the Champions League final in Madrid.
Obviously I am happy at Sheffield United. I’ve just signed a new contract and I’ve never thought about leaving, but my dream as a kid was to play for Liverpool and if they ever come knocking, although unlikely, it would be hard to turn them down.
