Mauro Icardi out, Paulo Dybala in

Prior to the squad announcement, Argentine news outlet Ole were already reporting that Mauro Icardi would be omitted from the touring party, while Paulo Dybala would be included.

That, of course, proved accurate.

Icardi has scored 11 goals for Inter Milan this season. However, the forward has also experienced plenty of issues at the San Siro this year.

In the last month and a half, Icardi has only scored twice for Inter.

By contrast, Dybala has made the cut despite his disappointing season in Turin.

Dybala only scored five times for Juve in Serie A as Cristiano Ronaldo become the main man for the Bianconeri.

Argentina’s probable XI

So how will Argentina line-up at the Copa America?

Ole have looked into that issue on Wednesday, as they’ve predicted the following XI:

Leo Messi is set to be partnered with Man City’s Sergio Aguero in attack.

Messi scored 36 goals for Barcelona in La Liga in 2018-19, while Aguero scored 21 goals in the Premier League.

One of the open questions for Ole is who will play down Argentina’s left-hand side.

PSG’s Angel di Maria could lose his spot in the team to Watford’s Roberto Pereyra.

The only other Premier League player in the XI is Man City centre-half Nicolas Otamendi.
