Leo Messi photo goes viral after Barcelona earn point at Juventus

A brilliant photograph of Barcelona star Lionel Messi holding a conversation with Juventus duo Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain has been going viral since last night’s meeting between the sides.

Matchup

Last season’s finalists Juve welcomed on-form Barca to Turin in a Champions League Group D clash, with the Bianconeri still struggling to hit full stride this season.

Max Allegri’s men fell to a harrowing 3-0 defeat in the reverse fixture at the Camp Nou back in September, and looked less than impressive during their last European outing away to Sporting CP.

Barca, meanwhile, came into the clash having earned victories in 15 of their 17 matches across all competitions this season, with manager Ernesto Valverde having done a phenomenal job since taking over at the Camp Nou during the summer.

Spoils shared

In the end, the clash saw the Italians rediscover their defensive solidity to hold free-scoring Barca at bay, though Juve themselves were also unable to find a breakthrough on the night.

The stalemate was certainly not through a lack of attacking talent being on show, with all of Luis Suarez, Douglas Costa, Paulo Dybala, Gonzalo Higuain and Lionel Messi (2nd half substitute) having featured.

And it was the latter three of these stars who went viral following the clash, after being photographed in the tunnel following the full-time whistle.

The photo sees the trio of Argentinian international teammates holding a clearly-entertaining conversation, with all three seemingly in good spirits following last night’s result.

As it stands

Elsewhere in Group D, Sporting CP put Olympiacos to the sword by 3 goals to 1, leaving Juventus just a solitary point ahead of the Portuguese outfit heading into the final round of fixtures.

The Old Lady will head to Greece to take on Olympiacos in two weeks’ time, while Sporting travel to the Camp Nou to take on already-qualified Barcelona.
