Man City open to selling two full-backs

According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester City are willing to sell two of their first-team full-backs this summer.

The two players in question are Fabian Delph and Danilo.

Delph made just 11 Premier League appearances this past season, with a 10-minute substitute cameo the only PL football he has managed in 2019.

The 29-year-old’s current Man City deal will expire in July of 2020.

As for Danilo, his contract runs until 2022, but like Delph, he made just 11 league appearances this past season.

Chilwell on Man City’s reported interest

If City do sell both Delph and Danilo in this transfer window, you would expect them to sign at least one new full-back.

One defender who has been heavily linked with the Citizens in recent months is Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell.

The 22-year-old had an excellent 2018/19 campaign with the Foxes, making 36 appearances and assisting five goals.

Chilwell has also been named in the England squad for their upcoming game vs the Netherlands.

Now, in a recent interview, Chilwell has provided this update on his future, with the left-back seemingly happy to remain at Leicester for now:

“I’m at Leicester and with Brendan Rodgers coming in we’re all loving him being there and that’s where my head’s at.

“At Leicester there’s a lot of playing out from the back if you’re in a tight situation – not just getting rid of it. That’s the same here and without the ball we’re trying to press and play with high intensity. The transition from club to country is not too different which is good.” As quoted by the Manchester Evening News.
