Leicester vs Tottenham betting tips: Premier League match preview & predictions

Leicester vs Tottenham 101 Great Goals’ prediction: Leicester 1-2 Tottenham

Tottenham’s two-goal lead was left in ruins in Athens as they once again surrendered two points from a commanding position.

After brushing aside Crystal Palace, Spurs appeared to be back on track but were held to another 2-2 draw with Olympiacos FC.

But with the Karaiskakis Stadium being a nasty environment to perform, Mauricio Pochettino should accept the point and try to move quickly onwards.

Leicester City are also looking to bounce back from disappointment having lost to Manchester United last Saturday.

Overall, the Foxes have made a good start to the season, currently sat level points with third-placed Tottenham.

Premier League preview: Leicester vs Tottenham

Brendan Rodgers will be very pleased with the start his side have made to the new season.

The Foxes are currently sat 5th on 8 points, with 3rd place to 8th also sharing the same tally.

Despite their defeat to United last weekend, Leicester have shown many promising signs of breaking into this season’s top six.

Jamie Vardy continues to be Leicester’s leading danger man, having netted three times this season.

The 32-year-old has a potent record against last season’s top six clubs, scoring more against them than any other player since the start of the 14/15 season.

Tottenham’s mixed recent run

Just as Tottenham looked to be getting back on track, for the second time this month they threw away a two-goal lead.

Once away at Arsenal and the second time coming in Athens against Olympiacos in the Champions League.

For about 20 minutes Spurs looked set to comfortably cruise to the win until some lackadaisical defending cost them a cheap goal just before the break.

Pochettino’s side once used to pride itself on being one of the league’s top teams defensively, but now they are just a shadow of their former selves.

Christian Eriksen’s inconsistency has also been a big issue for Tottenham, with his form dictating how the team function.

The Dane was well off-colour on Wednesday and that showed with Spurs lacking ideas in front of goal.

But, Eriksen isn’t the only player out of form, with Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Tanguy Ndombele and Jan Vertonghen all struggling.

Pochettino will be hoping that his players rediscover some more favourable form as the season progresses.
