Leicester are unbeaten in their last two league games against the Blues, keeping clean sheets in both matches.

Leicester vs Chelsea: Who will win?

Chelsea have won half of their 18 league matches on the road this season. Despite that, Leicester are 7/5 marginal favourites to win the match while Chelsea are 19/10. The draw is priced at 11/4.

Chelsea have kept one clean sheet in their last seven matches. Both teams to score is 4/7.

Leicester vs Chelsea Premier League match preview

Leicester begin the weekend in 9th place following Monday night’s 1-0 defeat to league leaders Manchester City. The Foxes have won three of their last four matches at home, including a 3-0 thumping of Arsenal.

A win for Leicester would ensure a top-half finish. They could end as high as eighth depending on results elsewhere. Brendan Rodgers has a poor personal record against Chelsea. The former Liverpool and Swansea manager has failed to beat Chelsea in eight previous attempts.

Chelsea qualified for the Europa League final on Thursday night, beating Eintracht Frankfurt on penalties. Ruben Loftus-Cheek opened the scoring at the Bridge but an equaliser for the visitors took the game all the way to a shootout. Chelsea will meet London rivals Arsenal in the final in Baku on 20 May.

Chelsea begin the final weekend 3rd in the table on 71 points following their 3-0 win over Watford last Sunday. Loftus-Cheek, David Luiz and Gonzalo Higuain all found the back of the net in the second half. The Blues secured a top four finish last weekend as Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester United all dropped points.

Leicester and Chelsea have met 25 times previously in the Premier League. Chelsea have won on 14 occasions to Leicester’s four.

Leicester won the reverse fixture 1-0 at Stamford Bridge in December. Jamie Vardy scored the winner shortly after half time. Leicester have not done the double over Chelsea since 2001.

Leicester team news vs Chelsea

Following impressive performances against Arsenal and Manchester City, Brendan Rodgers may be tempted to field the same starting eleven for a third consecutive match.

Harvey Barnes, Nampalys Mendy and Demarai Gray have had to settle for places on the bench recently and could benefit from any rotation.

Shinji Okazaki and Danny Simpson will be hoping to get some farewell minutes following Thursday’s announcement that the pair would be leaving the King Power at end of the season. Okazaki and Simpson were part of Leicester’s title-winning squad in 2016.

The club also announced that full-back Christian Fuchs has signed a one-year extension. Fuchs, another key member of Leicester’s title-winning squad, has only made two Premier League appearances in 2019.

Daniel Amartey remains Leicester’s only absentee with an ankle injury.

Chelsea team news vs Leicester

With a top four finish guaranteed and a Europa League final on the horizon, Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has little incentive to field his strongest eleven.

Andreas Christensen is set to miss out after picking up an injury in midweek. Ruben Loftus-Cheek came off with cramp but is expected to be available.

Many of the Chelsea players will be in the ‘red zone’ following 120 intense minutes of football on Thursday. Eden Hazard, David Luiz and Gonzalo Higuain are among those who could be rested.

Marcos Alonso was an unused substitute against Frankfurt and should replace Emerson Palmieri at left back.

Olivier Giroud, Ross Barkley, Pedro Rodriguez and Davide Zappacosta all came off the bench on Thursday and will be pushing for starts.

Willy Caballero could deputise in goal if Sarri opts to give Kepa Arrizabalaga a rest.

N’Golo Kante is sidelined with a hamstring injury and won’t be facing his former club.. The World Cup winner could be available for the Europa League final in around two weeks’ time.

Antonio Rudiger, Ethan Ampadu and Callum Hudson-Odoi are long-term injury absentees.

Former Leicester midfielder Danny Drinkwater has failed to make a single appearance for the Blues this season.
