Leicester excited for Champions League opener

Premier League Champions Leicester City are set to play their first ever Champions League match tomorrow night when they face Club Brugge in Belgium.

The Belgian club welcomed the Leicester fans to their city with a magnificent social media video and the atmosphere ahead of kick-off appears to be a very friendly one.

Leicester fans to honour Francois Sterchele

In 2008, Club Brugge striker Francois Sterchele died in a car accident. The home fans applaud in the 23rd minute of every home game and the English away fans reportedly caught wind of this.

Belgian newspaper HLN report that Leicester City fans have been sending the Club Brugge fan group multiple questions ahead of their fixture.

One e-mail read: “We’d like to know more about the usual applause in your stadium. Is it true that this is every time in the 23rd minute because of a player that passed away? If we get confirmation about this, then we will spread this information between the Leicester fans traveling to Bruges.”

Pure class from the travelling Leicester supporters.
