Leicester City’s Wesley Fofana outlines his return date after horror injury

Fofana suffers horror injury

Highly-rated Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana has been a revelation since he joined the Foxes from Saint-Etienne in the summer of 2020, making 42 appearances across all competitions last campaign.

However, he was then dealt a massive blow in pre-season, picking up a severe injury in a friendly against Europa League champions Villarreal.

Brendan Rodgers then confirmed that Fofana will not play again until 2022, but little has been heard about him since. The injury forced Leicester into the transfer window once more, completing a deal for Southampton centre-back Jannick Vestergaard.

However, now, news on his recovery has come to the fore.

Fofana issues an uupdate

Taking to Twitter spaces, Fofana himself provided an update on his fitness, and it looks like good news for Foxes fans.

Earlier this evening, the Leicester man revealed:

“I’m starting to see the end of the tunnel. The return is coming soon. It will be at the end of December, if all goes well”

His return would be a massive boost to Leicester, who have been struggling in the defender’s absence, and currently sit in 12th place in the Premier League, having won four and lost four of their opening 11 games. They have been performing little better in the Europa League, too, where the Foxes sit in 3rd place in their group, 2 points off top spot with 2 games to play.

Will Fofana prove the difference?
