Leicester City’s Brendan Rodgers ‘not interested’ in Tottenham job

Leicester City’s Brendan Rodgers ‘not interested’ in Tottenham job

An update on Tottenham’s hunt for Jose Mourinho’s replacement has emerged on Tuesday.

Jose Mourinho sacked by Tottenham

After news of the European Super League engulfed the footballing world, Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham sacking went somewhat under the radar.

The Portuguese was relieved of his duties last Monday, less than a week before Spurs were set to face Manchester City in the League Cup final.

His sacking means that Spurs now represent the first side with whom Mourinho has failed to win a single trophy.

Ryan Mason has since taken temporary charge of the Lilywhites until the end of the season.

In all likelihood, Spurs will appoint a more experienced figure ahead of next season, though, particularly after finding out that they will now have to earn European football, rather than simply paying their way into a ‘Super League’.

Brendan Rodgers doesn’t want Tottenham job

Thus far, a number of high-profile names have been linked with the job.

Julian Nagelsmann was said to have been of interest to the north London outfit, but he is now set to take over at Bayern Munich in the summer.

Elsewhere, Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has too been tipped as a potential target.

Now, though, Spurs’ hopes of securing the Northern Irishman have been dealt a blow.

This comes with Euro Sport reporting on Tuesday that Rodgers is not interested in the Tottenham job.
