Leicester City vs Liverpool: Alisson Becker slated for horrendous Leicester goal mistake

Liverpool have conceded their first goal of the season following a costly Alisson Becker mistake.

The Brazilian failed to clear his lines and after being dispossessed by Kelechi Iheanacho, with Rachid Ghezzal having managed to net his first goal for his new club.

However, the Reds remain on course to maintain their perfect start to the season, leading Leicester City 2-1 with under five minutes remaining.

The 25-year-old spoke of continuing to take risks following his impressive skill vs Brighton and Hove Albion.

Unfortunately for the former Roma goalkeeper, he failed to get away with his risk-taking this afternoon.

Alisson said:

“I try my best to help the team in the build-up. If sometimes there is a situation where there is dribbling, I do it carefully.

“It could be too risky, but it’s part of the game. We are a team that plays from the back with the ball on the ground.

“That’s part of the team’s characteristics. Mistakes may happen, but we work hard during the week to everything correctly during the matches.”

85 minutes: Leicester City 1-2 Liverpool

Mane opened the scoring after just 10 minutes following some excellent work from Andrew Robertson.

Roberto Firmino doubled Liverpool’s lead just before the break.

The Brazilian netted his first goal since the Reds’ Champions League semi-final first-leg tie with AS Roma last season.

18 minutes after the restart Alisson’s mistake helped provide Leicester with a foot-hold back into the game as Rachid Ghezzal was afforded the time to comfortably tuck home.
