Big blow for Leicester and Albrighton
Leicester City have suffered a big injury blow with manager Claude Puel confirming that winger Marc Albrighton could miss the rest of the season.
Albrighton was injured during training in the buildup to their clash with Manchester United, which they would lose 1-0.
It has been confirmed that the injury was in relation to his hamstring.
The Englishman may be 29-years-old but he still offers an awful lot for this Leicester side which means this will come as a big blow for Claude Puel.
Despite their attacking talent, Albrighton has already featured in 27 games so far this campaign.
Now, Claude Puel has been speaking about Albrighton’s injury.
“I think he will not be available until the end of the season”
The Leicester boss has explained that Marc’s injury is bad news for the team, who will now ‘have to find another balance’.
Though, Puel has claimed this is a chance for other players to step up and prove themselves.
“We now know [more about] the injury to Marc,” Puel explained to Leicester’s official website.
“He’s had a serious hamstring injury. It’s bad news for us, for the team, and I think he will not be available until the end of the season.
“Marc gives the team spirit and aggressiveness. We will have to find another balance in the team so we will see.
“It’s a bad thing for him and for us but it will be an opportunity for another player to show his quality and we’ll have to manage this situation. He will have surgery.”
Tottenham scout James Maddison to replace Real Madrid target Christian Eriksen
One player who has been instrumental for Leicester in attack is James Maddison.
Though, the player is now attracting interest from Tottenham.
