Leeds reportedly set to open contract talks with Patrick Bamford
Bamford’s Leeds stint
Patrick Bamford joined Leeds United in the summer of 2018, after an underwhelming spell with Middlesbrough.
Since moving to Elland Road, though, the Englishman has gotten his career firmly back on track.
The forward racked up 16 goals and four assists in 45 Championship outings throughout Leeds’ promotion-winning campaign last time out.

Nevertheless, there remained question marks over whether or not Bamford would actually be able to cut it as Leeds’ main striker in the Premier League.
But with 23 fixtures played out, it is fair to say that any such doubts have been put to bed.
To this point in the campaign, Bamford has managed to score 12 and provide six assists for the Peacocks.

Bamford set for new Leeds deal?
Amid his fine start to the campaign, there has even been talk of Bamford potentially earning an England call-up for the next round of internationals in March:

And the 27-year-old’s exploits in front of goal, if the latest speculation is to be believed, also look set to benefit him financially.
Bamford’s current Leeds deal will run out in the summer of 2022, leaving him with just one year to see out when this season finishes.
However, according to a report from Football Insider, the Whites are set to open talks with their star attacker imminently, over a potential ‘blockbuster’ new contract.
Bamford is thought to earn around £40,000-a-week at present, but looks in line for a major pay rise.
