Leeds dealt fresh injury blow during Norwich clash

Leeds United have, on Sunday afternoon, been dealt yet another concerning blow on the personnel front.

Raph amongst the goals

Marcelo Bielsa’s men are of course currently locked in Premier League action.

On the back of a less than impressive opening to their 2nd campaign back in the top-flight of English football, the Whites made the trip to Carrow Road, for a showdown with fellow strugglers Norwich City.

Leeds headed into proceedings aware that nothing but a 3-point haul would suffice, with their opponents on the day having emerged as the whipping boys once more over the early months of the season.

And, as things stand, a victory is precisely what the Peacocks are headed towards.

On the back of a dismal opening 45 minutes, the clash exploded into life early in the 2nd-half, as Raphinha’s opener was cancelled out by Andrew Omobamidele, only for Rodrigo to restore the advantage minutes later, with more than a helping hand from Tim Krul.

Shack blow

As outlined above, though, whilst, late in the action at Carrow Road, they appear primed for a return to winning ways, an otherwise positive afternoon for Leeds has been soured by a fresh blow on the personnel front.

Midway through the 2nd-half of action, Jamie Shackleton, fresh off the back of a return from injury, went to ground with what appeared to be a muscular problem.

In turn, after a lengthy wait, the versatile midfielder was eventually forced to limp off, ahead of a potential spell on the sidelines.

Shackleton joins the likes of Patrick Bamford, Luke Ayling and Robin Koch on the treatment table at Elland Road.
