Leeds compare Man United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka to wrestler after defender ‘suplexed’ now injured Helder Costa

Leeds vs Man United

Sunday’s marquee Premier League fixture of course saw Leeds United play host to Manchester United.

The clash marked the first time the sides have faced off at Elland Road since the Peacocks secured promotion back to the Premier League.

United and Leeds previously played out one of the most entertaining games of the campaign thus far back in December, when the Red Devils put six past Marcelo Bielsa’s outfit at Old Trafford.

And neutrals were no doubt hoping for something similar on Sunday, especially when taking into account the fact that neither side had much to play for, other than pride.

However, the first-half proved almost the polar opposite of December’s clash, with the first decent opportunity having not coming until Marcus Rashford’s free-kick forced a decent save from Illan Meslier on the stroke of the interval.

In the end, upon the full-time whistle sounding, Leeds managed to come away with a point, a result which most of a Whites persuasion were no doubt fairly happy with, given the fact that they shipped six to United last time out.

On an otherwise fairly positive afternoon for Leeds, however, they were also dealt a blow on the personnel front.

After clashing with Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Helder Costa went down holding his back.

The Portuguese was then taken off with 15 minutes remaining, with Poland international Mateusz Klich introduced in his place.

When announcing the change, meanwhile, Leeds’ official Twitter account enjoyed a bit of lighthearted fun, in suggesting that AWB had ‘suplexed’ Costa, a move of course used in wrestling:
