Lazio president Claudio Lotito has explained that it’ll cost any club who wants to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic more than it cost Man United for Paul Pogba.
The Frenchman joined the Red Devils for a world record fee at the time, thought to be in the region of £95million.
Now, Milinkovic-Savic is being touted as a player who could be worth more.
He has been linked to Barcelona and Manchester United in the past few months and while it remains unclear whether he will move this summer, he could soon be on the move.
Tipped for greatness
Lazio president Claudio Lotito has now been talking about the player and his potential.
He has explained that the midfielder is one of the best young players on the world scene right now.
Not only that, it would require a fee in excess of Paul Pogba’s fee because he ‘is much stronger’.
‘Sergej is the best young player on the world scene, with huge potential,’ Lotito told Corriere della Sera, as cited by the Daily Mirror.
‘I have not received any official offers either from Milan or Juventus, let alone from Real or United.
‘Of course, I do not push to sell him but if you ask me how much he is worth then I remember that last year, August 29, I refused a €110m (£99m) offer.’
‘How much has Pogba been sold to Manchester? €105m (£95m)? So Milinkovic is worth more, because he is much stronger.
‘And be clear, I’m not interested in technical counterparts or loan-type formulas.’
