Frank Lampard singles out Tottenham’s ‘complete midfielder’ before Juventus

Frank Lampard on Mousa Dembele

in his weekly column in the Evening Standard, Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has previewed Tottenham’s Champions League tie with Juventus.

When singling out individual players for analysis, Lampard honed in on Mousa Dembele.

Dembele was outstanding in the first leg in Turin, and Lampard has been quick to pour on the praise:

He has adapted his game to play deeper and still uses his ability to dribble past people. Not many midfielders can do that.

He has something extra and he is also very strong in the tackle. He is a complete central midfielder.

‘Spurs should beat Juventus’

When it came to predicting how the second leg will pan out, Lampard has thrown his weight behind Spurs labelling them as “favourites”.

Goals from Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen saw the Lillywhites recover from 2-0 in Italy.

So how will Wednesday night’s game go? Lampard wrote:

If Tottenham are on their game, I expect them to ignore the nerves and beat Juventus a second time.

Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuian

The big issue for Juventus before the match at Wembley concerns their attack.

Gonzalo Higuain scored a double against Tottenham in the first leg. He could have bagged a hat-trick but he missed a penalty on the stroke of halftime.

Higuain is an injury doubt, but even if he doesn’t feature Paulo Dybala is back for the Bianconeri.

Dybala scored a brilliant winner for Juve at Lazio last weekend, which prove to be the springboard for an amazing end to the season for Max Allegri’s side.

Elsewhere, Blaise Matuidi is also back in Juve’s side having missed the Spurs match through injury.
