Chelsea boss Lampard not getting carried away in comparisons to Man City & Liverpool
Chelsea hammer Sheffield United
Chelsea welcomed Sheffield United to Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening, for a Premier League clash.
The Londoners headed into the tie in fine form, both domestically and in Europe.
Sheffield United, on the other hand, were yet to pick up a single win in the Premier League this season.
As such, it came as little surprise when the southwest London showdown played out true to form.
The visitors actually took the lead in the clash with nine minutes gone, via David McGoldrick.
However, goals from all of Tammy Abraham, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva and Timo Werner saw the Blues eventually come away with a resounding 4-1 victory.

Lampard not getting carried away
Following their win over the Blades, Chelsea are up to 5th in the Premier League table, and just three points off top spot as we head into the international break.
Chelsea’s summer recruits also finally appear to have been fully integrated, with the switch to a 4-1-2-3 formation, along with the introduction of Hakim Ziyech, key factors in Chelsea’s recent success.
After his side were comprehensively beaten on Saturday, meanwhile, Chris Wilder was full of praise for Chelsea – voicing the opinion that the Blues look the most likely outfit to close the gap on Manchester City and Liverpool in the English top-flight this season.
However, on the back of Wilder’s comments, Frank Lampard has moved to temper expectations somewhat, stating that his side now need to produce on a consistent basis, before insisting that he will not get too carried away:
“We have to prove ourselves as the gap has been too big now for the level of consistency with two of the best teams in both world football and in the modern era in the Premier League.
“So, we have to understand where we are at and be humble about that. We are in a nice moment this weekend. It is nice for [Sheffield manager] Chris [Wilder] to say we have played well today, so that’s fresh in all our minds.
“Now it is whether we can produce it regularly. That’s the next question of us. I won’t get too carried away.”
