Frank Lampard on Man City vs Liverpool
Writing in his weekly column in the London Evening Standard, Frank Lampard has had his say on Man City vs Liverpool.
Liverpool travel to Manchester in pole position in their Champions League quarterfinal tie.
3-0 up from the first leg, if Liverpool score once at the Etihad, Man City need five goals to progress.
Saying that, Man City did beat Liverpool 5-0 earlier this season.
Liverpool’s players are scared vs Man City
According to Lampard, Man City are far from out of the Champions League.
Halftime in the tie, the former Chelsea star believes Liverpool’s players might be scared before kick-off:
Make no mistake, the Liverpool players will fear they could be talked about for years if they get knocked out of the Champions League at Manchester City.
Should Manchester City go a couple of goals up early on, then the prospect of going out will be on their minds and they will start to think to themselves, ‘Oh no, people will never let us forget this’.
In many ways, this second leg could just come down to showing some balls.
So now Lampard is doing a Troy Deeney and questioning Liverpool’s cojones?
Liverpool ‘confirmed’ XI vs Man City
A confident set of tweets from Liverpool ITK account, Anfield Express, has revealed the Liverpool XI versus Man City.
The big news is that Mohamed Salah is set to start for Jurgen Klopp.
Salah will be stationed in his usual role on the right hand side of the Liverpool attack.
He’ll link up with Roberto Firmino and Mane in Liverpool’s favoured front three.
The other good news for Liverpool fans is that Andrew Robertson will return at left-back against City.
