Kylian Mbappe left out of Monaco squad to face Metz

Young striker Kylian Mbappe has been omitted from the Monaco squad set to travel to Metz for the club’s Ligue 1 matchup tomorrow evening.

Today’s news marks the second time in a week that teenage sensation Mbappe has been left out of Monaco’s starting XI for a Ligue 1 clash, with the striker having been left on the bench for the entirety of his side’s 4-1 victory over Dijon at the weekend.

However, while being left on the bench was one matter, being entirely left out of Leonardo Jardim’s squad looks an entirely different, and possibly more ominous one, for fans of the Principality outfit.

On the move?

Following his breakout campaign with Monaco last season, Mbappe has been linked with a move to almost every top club in Europe this summer.

While the likes of Real Madrid, Arsenal and Manchester City were seen as the frontrunners for his signature early in the transfer window, free-spending PSG have emerged as the clear favourites over the last fortnight.

The Ligue 1 powerhouse are said to be readying a bid in the region of 180 million Euro for the French international starlet, hoping to add a second marquee signing over the coming weeks following the world-record arrival of Neymar at the Parc des Princes.

Heavy links to Paris have reportedly turned the head of Mbappe, who is not seen as in the right frame of mind to line out for Jardim’s side.

And this evening’s news will no doubt only serve to push speculation into overdrive that the world’s most in-demand young talent is indeed set to join Neymar in the French capital.
