Monaco & Kylian Mbappe
Over the weekend, French paper Journal Du Dimanche announced that Mbappe is moving to PSG.
Should that come to pass, Mbappe would team up with Neymar in the French capital.
PSG shocked world football signing Neymar from Barcelona in a world record 222 million euro bid.
Digging into the details, JDD announce that Monaco are “resigned” to losing the sought-after French striker to their main competitor, PSG.
Mbappe is poised to sign a five year deal to move to Paris.
Mbappe is banned
The big news in L’Equipe on Monday is that Kylian Mbappe has been banned from Monaco training since last Tuesday.
The trigger for the ban came after Mbappe had an altercation with team mate Andrea Raggi.
While the details of the altercation are largely kept under wraps, the disclosure of the fight suggests that there is no way Mbappe returns to the fold at Monaco.
Undoubtedly the tension between Monaco and Mbappe has hit it’s ceiling.
Monaco, meanwhile, won 1-0 away at Metz on Friday night. Mbappe was left out the squad.
What about Real Madrid?
The Mbappe-PSG deal is bad news for Real Madrid, who had been thought to be leading the chase for the 18-year-old attacker.
JDD reported that Mbappe was keen on joining Real Madrid, especially if Gareth Bale was going to leave the club.
However the teenager has been swayed to play alongside Neymar ad Edinson Cavani, due to offers of “guaranteed game time”.
It’s believed PSG will spend 180 million euros on the Monaco striker.
