New Manchester City signing and most expensive defender ever Kyle Walker has explained why he felt he had to leave Tottenham.
The Englishman signed for Pep Guardiola’s side in a £50m deal only a few weeks ago and has been questioned after saying ‘Tottenham ’till I die only a couple of months ago.’
“I am hoping with the world class players we have here that we will go and lift a trophy, which is what I want to do in my career,” Walker explained.
“I needed a new challenge. Sometimes you need to come out of your comfort zone a little bit.”
Walker’s signing is one of many major signings at the Cityzens this summer.
Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson arrived from Benfica while Bernardo Silva joined from Monaco very early on.
Now, with Walker on board, Pep Guardiola will be looking to push on from last season as he goes into his second year in England.
Kyle Walker on his transfer fee: "It's out of my hands. Whatever the two clubs decided to pay, that's nothing to do with me."
