Kurt Zouma’s Chelsea exit to Everton rests on Frank Lampard/Toffees ‘actively pursuing’ striker

Everton & Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma

It’s already been a good week for Everton, after Andre Gomes completed his move from Barcelona.

As confirmed by Telegraph reporter Jason Burt, after closing terms for Gomes, Everton’s attention is now on Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma.

Zouma also spent the 2018-19 season on loan at Everton.

However, it’s unclear whether Chelsea will agree to farm out Zouma again this season. That’s because Chelsea are now unable to buy any players due to a UEFA imposed transfer ban for the next two windows.

On Thursday, the BBC have confirmed that Everton are focused on signing Zouma.

However, Zouma’s future is set to be determined by Frank Lampard, who is expected to be announced as the new Chelsea boss imminently:

Everton are stepping up their efforts to sign Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma on a permanent deal.

Any proposed deal will have to be signed off by Chelsea’s new manager, who is expected to be Frank Lampard.

If Everton are able to land Zouma, the BBC claim that the defender will cost around 30 million pounds.

Toffees ‘actively pursuing’ striker

Aside from trying to sign Zouma, the BBC also note that Everton want to buy another forward:

In what could be a busy summer at Goodison Park, Everton are also actively pursuing a deal for a striker, with Turkey international Cenk Tosun failing to make a serious impact following his £27m move from Besiktas in January 2018.

Everton could also sign a right-back, after Jonjoe Kenny left Goodison Park to join Schalke on loan.
